O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.
Bible Text: Psalm 71:17
Some of the difficulties that people have in living up to God’s righteous standards stem from the lifestyles and experiences they had as youths. These lifestyles and experiences are themselves shaped by the kind of training or upbringing that they received. As youths, people are generally in the formative years of their lives. They are still malleable and flexible. This makes it the critical time to train them in the way that they should go, so that when they are grown up, they will not depart from it. Unfortunately this is not usually the case.
In these days of ultra-fast paced living, extreme liberality and unrighteous parenting laws, it has become very difficult for parents and youth instructors to carry out their God assigned task of bringing up youths with the appropriate level of discipline – in the way of the Lord. Yet the future of these youths and our society critically depends on the ability of parents and teachers to effectively play their role as agents of God in the teaching of the youths. If our children will grow up to be God fearing people and not a menace to themselves and society, then as agents of God, we must yield to the scriptures and bring them up in the way of the Lord. It requires commitment and the good fight of faith to see this happen. The Lord will strengthen all those with this responsibility.
Children are precious gifts from the LORD. So, lets treasure them.
Be encouraged, Jesus loves you!
