The Beginning:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…..So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them…Genesis 1-2 (New International Version)

In the beginning God the supreme and almighty created the heavens and the earth. He created man perfect in his image and blessed him and gave him dominion. God also gave Adam clear instructions not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, with the warning that if he disobeyed he will surely die. At this point everything was perfect and man was in fellowship with God.
The fall of man – The Judgement and Man’s Predicament
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”…Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”…Genesis 3 (New International Version)
Seduced through the cunning craftiness of the devil, man was deceived into disobeying God. As a result of this sin began. Adam and Eve were judged, condemned and driven out of the Garden of Eden. “…So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken”…Genesis 3:23 (New International Version). But the consequences of their sin did not stop there. In fact it was just the beginning. Their disobedience and judgement by God had a knock on effect on mankind , namely – we all became guilty –“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned–”(Romans 5:12).
God’s Plan of salvation
The plan of salvation is right in the Bible. God gives us His clear plan for being “born again.”
First, we must acknowledge God as the Creator of everything, and accept our humble position in God’s creation. “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” (Revelation 4:11).
Next, we must realize that we are sinners. “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Because we are sinners, we are condemned to death. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This includes eternal separation from God.
But God loved each of us so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear our sin and die in our place. “God demonstrates His love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Although we cannot understand how, God said our sins were laid upon Jesus and He died in our place. Jesus became our substitute.
In the Bible, a jailer asked his prisoners, Paul and Silas: “’Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.’” (Acts 16:30-31).
It’s very clear in the Bible, believe in Jesus as the one who bore your sins, died in your place, was buried, and whom God resurrected. It’s Christ’s blood and resurrection that assures us of everlasting life when we call on Him as our Lord and Savior. “For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13). “Whosoever” includes each and every one of us.
Jesus – His Life, Death and Resurrection
Jesus Was 100% Man
According to John 1:14, Jesus became flesh and made His dwelling among us. Why is His humanity so important?
In Hebrews 4:15, Jesus was tempted in every way, just as we are. As such, Jesus can sympathize with our weakness as humans. What can we learn from the way Jesus handled temptation?
According to 1 John 3:5, Jesus came to earth in human form so that He could die a physical death and take away our sins. How would we all be affected, if we had no potential for escape from our sins?
Jesus is the key to membership in God’s family. When He stooped to our level by becoming a man, He made it possible for us to relate to Him and for God to relate to us through Him.
Jesus Was 100% God
Who is Jesus, and how was it possible that Christ’s human body held the whole deity and glory of God?
According to John 1:1-3, Jesus existed from the beginning. From the beginning, Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. Here, the Bible establishes the inseparable nature of Jesus and the God of the Universe.
The following verses provide further evidence that Jesus is 100% God:
Highlights of Christ’s Time on Earth & the verses:
Miracles: Luke 7:22
Eyewitnesses to His perfect life: Matthew 16:13-17
Fulfilment of Prophecy: Matthew 13:14, Luke 24:44
Jesus’ own identification/claim: John 10:30-38, Matthew 16:13- 17, Mark 14:61-64
Claims of Christ’s followers: Hebrews 1:8, Colossians 1:16, John 12:40 (quoting Isaiah 6:1-10)
Resurrection: Luke 24:39, Mark 8:31, Acts 17:32
Jesus is the key to membership in God’s family. When He established His deity by rising from the grave, He made it possible for us to have forgiveness from sin and a renewed relationship with God.
Crucifixion: Jesus Suffered for You and Me
The crucifixion accounts of Jesus Christ are in entire agreement with the customs and practices of the Romans in that period. The evidence for Christ’s horrible and painful death is unquestioned by today’s legitimate scholars. Look at the record yourself — Even with all the pain, Jesus thought of others rather than Himself. His first words from the cross were, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34). He thought of His mother, who stood by the cross weeping, and asked his beloved disciple John to take care of her. On either side of Jesus were two thieves executed at the same time. When one of them accepted Jesus as Lord, Jesus shared with him, “To day shalt thou be with Me in paradise” (Luke 23:43). Finally, Jesus expressed his complete surrender to the will of God as He said, “It is finished;” (John 19:30). “Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit” (Luke 23:46). Investigate the historical record, and then examine your heart. Jesus gave Himself willingly for you and me. Jesus suffered a horrible death for you and me. Jesus loved us so much that He willingly died in utter shame and pain for our sins. In fact, the Bible teaches us that He who was without sin was literally “made sin” for us. God, in human form, allowed himself to be made sin to save us. On the cross, he bore all the world’s sin because of His love. The only way to complete His story of love is to love Him in return.
Resurrection of Christ – Establishing the Importance
The resurrection of Christ is the linchpin of the Christian faith — the historical event upon which Christian doctrine stands or falls. The apostle Paul makes this clear in his first letter to the Corinthians: But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is futile and your faith is empty. … For if only in this life we have hope in Christ, we should be pitied more than anyone (1 Corinthians. 15:13-14, 19).
In fact, the New Testament insists that belief in the bodily resurrection of Christ is a necessary condition of the Christian faith — no one can be saved apart from it. This insistence is found in verses such as Romans 10:9: Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
The resurrection of Jesus was also declared in numerous other accounts, including the appearance of Jesus to Mary Magdalene (John 20:10-18), to other women (Matthew 28:8-10), to Cleopas and his companion (Luke 24:13-32), to eleven disciples and others (Luke 24:33-49), to ten apostles and others (excluding Thomas) (John 20:19-23), to the apostles (including Thomas) (John 20:26-30), to seven apostles (John 21:1-14), to the disciples (Matthew 28:16-20), and to the apostles on the Mount of Olives (Luke 24:50-52 and Acts 1:4-9).
Jesus is the Way to Heaven
Who is Jesus, and why is He the only path to salvation?
In John 14:6, Jesus declares “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Why is it important to know that NO other religious leaders throughout history have ever made these claims?
According to Ephesians 2:9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” How does this contrast with other world religions which are based on “works” versus faith in Jesus and the resurrection? If we can’t build a relationship with God by doing good deeds or repeating rituals, what must we do?
Acts 4:12 is clear, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
How to Receive Jesus
First, you can be sure that God loves you unconditionally and desires to have a personal relationship with you.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).
Second, you need to admit your sinful nature to God, because this is what separates all of us from Him.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).
Third, you should stop trying to please God through your own efforts, and realize that salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ is a gift that none of us deserves.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).
Finally, you just need to step in and truly accept God’s gift — His Son, Jesus Christ.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).
Jesus says,
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6).
Jesus also says,
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20).
Receiving Jesus is a matter of truly asking Him to come into your life, to forgive your sins, and to become your Lord and Saviour. It’s not merely an intellectual undertaking, but rather, an act of sincere faith and heart-felt will.
Prayer of Salvation
If you want to receive Jesus now, and accept His gift of salvation, it’s a matter of believing in Jesus Christ, repenting of your sins, and turning the rest of your life over to Him. This is not a ritual based on specific words, but rather, a prayerful guideline for your sincere step of faith.
“Heavenly Father, I come to you admitting that I am a sinner. Right now, I choose to turn away from sin, and I ask you to cleanse me of all unrighteousness. I believe that, Jesus died on the cross to take away my sins. I also believe that He rose again from the dead so that I might be forgiven of my sins and made righteous through faith in Him. I call upon the name of Jesus Christ to be the Saviour and Lord of my life. Jesus, I choose to follow you and ask that you fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit. I declare that right now I am a child of God. I am free from sin and full of the righteousness of God. I am saved in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38)
