Have you ever seen a hungry man eating? Well I have seen some people eat like the famous “Hungry Horace” of the Sparky  comic book ( UK ). They often eat with mouth open so wide they could have swallowed their cutlery (some did not even bother with cutleries) without noticing. Such is the way of a genuinely hungry man.

I have often watch people saved at the same time and almost the same circumstances grow at incredibly different paces. The difference has always been the level of spiritual appetite of the individuals. While one individual is an “Oliver Twist” for the things of God, the other is content with mediocre portions. The size of our spiritual appetite is the only thing that can limit how much of God we can have in our lives. God is asking us to have true hunger for him and this should be reflected in the opening wide of our spiritual mouths to receive and imbibe the milk and meat of his word. He promises to fill our mouths. With God there is no rationing, he has more than enough to go round every hungry soul. Sometimes the loss of appetite may indicate sickness or mental/emotional trauma. If you feel this way spiritually, then turn to the Lord for healing so that your appetite may be restored.
