Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place

Bible Text: Psalm 66:12

Sometimes we are overwhelmed by the magnitude of the challenges we face. These challenges often seem like the end of all we have every hoped for or dreamt of. Fires, water, we all experience them from time to time. But thank God, though we go “INTO” these challenges, we also go “THROUGH” them. Through means: from beginning to end. It means that though you go in, you also come out. God will bring you out into a wealthy place. It is so important that we do not lose sight of this truth. In all our troubles, there is great solace to be found in understanding that the challenges we face are not designed as the end point of our life, but they are bridges, the path through which God leads us into a wealthy place.

Jesus went through his own “fire and water”, but the bible says “because he never lost sight of where he was headed–that exhilarating finish in and with God–he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honour, right alongside God”. Heb 12:2 (The Message Translation).
